I will go back and resort this as I go along. I have been venturing into the off-roading scene and have found this to be a very popular engine swap of choice for Jeeps, Toyota's and the like. Schematics and pin-outs for 1996 & 1997 Vortec. 5.7L Specific PCM Pinouts & Schematics, however pinouts do list pin locations for V6. Schematics and pin-outs for 1998 & 1999 Vortec 5.0 & 5.7 L. Specific info. V6 to V8 conversion in a factory 1996 to 1999 Vortec vehicle (S10, Astro, Safari, Full Size) detail info for injector pin assignment. 1996-1997 PCM. 5 Connectors. DOES NOT have secuirty 1998-200 PCM. 4 Connectors. Has Security, ALL applications this PCM was used.
Knock Sensor Modules, located under the cover with two screws. This is a filter that needs to match your Engine. Your knock sensors in the block, the filter, programming all should match your engine. Below is the part# for the KS Module, if you remove the cover, the number will be imprinted on it. Not running correct filter can cause knock sensor related dtcs, reduced ignition timing, poor performance.
