2007 is a change over year.  There are 2007 Classic and 2007 New body trucks.  All the new body trucks had a Generation IV engine, and the Classic and prior were all Generation III engines.  Major changes took place in the electronics that control the engine & transmission.  2007 Classic and prior had a PCM, or Powertrain Control Module.  2007 New body, have a ECM and a TCM.  (Engine Control Module and Transmission Control Module.)  One computer controls engine, the other the transmission.  In vehicles equipped with a 6 speed automatic, the TCM is located inside the transmission its self.
